On Friday night Drive Productions won the prestigious ‘Best Event of the Year’ Award at the IVCA Awards at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane.
Drive CEO Ben Fender, Production Director Jim Hudson and Director Luke Losey, who masterminded the ground-breaking projection were there to collect the award alongside some friends and other key members of the Drive team.
IVCA (International Visual Communications Association) is Europe’s largest and most prestigious celebration of corporate and public sector communication. Drive was up against some serious competition in the form of ‘London 2012 Games Marker Orientation Events’ by Crown for LOCOG, ‘Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant’ by the Thames Diamond Jubilee Foundation and Sainsbury’s Paralympics Customer & Colleague Activation Programme 2012 by drpgroup, to name a few.
John Nichols, Marketing Director at Nokia was “blown away” by the response which at the time included 145,000 logging in to Nokia’ Facebook page watch the event live and 20,000 plus people watching the show live from the banks of the river Thames. The video has now become an iconic piece of above and below the line advertising with over 5 million views on YouTube in just over 1 year.
Ben Fender, CEO comments: “Drive is renowned for creating experiences with impact; few projection mapping shows or product launches have ever had as much reach and influence. The viewing figures of the official video alone are up to 5 million, all of the content out there is user generated and genuine, people are still enjoying sharing and watching Nokia Lumia Live. I am hugely proud of the team that helped us achieve this engaging piece of ground-breaking work and thrilled that the IVCA have awarded us with Best Event of the Year.”
