2008 kicked off to a flying start with Bathstore commissioning Drive to design and build bathroom sets for their new product range catalogue photoshoot (see the Bathstore Catalogue Photoshoot entry in this blog).

Following on from the photoshoot, Drive was asked to design and build their feature stand at the Grand Designs Live exhibition.

The stand had to effectively display a large amount of product while still allowing freedom of movement for visitors and complying with venue build regulations. Many of ther modular features were pre-constructed in our workshops and then assembled on site.

Working on site in close conjunction with Bathstore, Drive built fourteen complete bathroom sets in just three days!

Drive’s Production Designer, Imogen Hammond gave the stand a unique and ultra-stylish look using fashionable wallpapers and accessories combined with bespoke features to show off the Bathstore product to the fullest. One of the most popular features was the decoupage rolltop bath beautifully embellished with fine art.

Decoupage is the technique of applying layers of varnish over printed paper. Also on an artistic theme another popular set was the Mondrian-inspired bathroom…

Another set was finished with zebrano veneer, a beautiful African wood with streaks of gold and dark colour in the alternating hard and soft grain.

Other sets included an Oriental style piece with chrysanthenum wallpaper and decorative fringe curtain, a City set with an urban landscape made from a collage of images and a set with stylishly dramatic forest print wallpaper.

Drive created a stone effect product display wall featuring individually lit alcoves sized to each product. This was an unobtrusive way of showcasing items on the outside of the stand.
