Hampton Court Palace

Drive put together a lean mean running team and joined 5000 others to run 10K for Cancer Research. Online Sponsorship and Facebook promotion helped us to raise nearly £1000.

A beautiful day, sunny and warm, meant perfect weather for running. With the route taking us ten kilometres through Hampton Court Palace Gardens, along the River Thames and through Bushy Park, it was a real pleasure to be out and about. Cheer-leaders and a samba band were there to keep up the momentum so we all completed the run in great time. Ben came in first for Drive at 49 minutes, Troy second over the line at 60 and Imogen and Emma finishing in style at 69 minutes.

London Hilton Park Lane Hotel

We are so proud of the work we achieved during 2009 that we decided to put some of it up for an award. We entered the Event Awards where there were literally hundreds of applicants for the title of Creative Event Agency of the Year. We were delighted, but not surprised, when we were selected as one of three finalists to attend the ceremony at the Hilton Park Royal.

The food was bad and the wine was expensive but we were brilliantly entertained by human beat-box maestro Beardyman, and ‘Yr Wall’ by Lumacoustics, provided artistic defacement of the Event logo in a great onstage graffiti show.

We didn’t take the award this year but we got a nice framed certificate and we were only pipped at the post by Imagination.

We’re now creating the winning events to enter for 2010.
