Drive Produce Sound & Vision Guitar Auction
Author: la fabulistaDrive produce the Rolls Royce of charity auctions for CRUK’s Sound & Vision – to raise 17k for Cancer Research UK
A fantastic total of £17,000 was raised last night at the ‘Sound and Vision Guitar Auction’ held at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showroom in London’s Berkeley Square.
Together with our fellow CRUK event partners Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London, David Arnold, The Gibson Foundation, Champagne G.H. Mumm, Christie’s and Absolute Taste, we felt truly inspired to make it a night to remember.
It’s hard to believe that five guitars and a music lesson could raise the roof but these were no ordinary guitars.Up for grabs was a stunning acoustic guitar donated by Free and Bad Company lead-man Paul Rodgers, a special-edition Fender Stratocaster owned and donated by The Shadows’ legend lead guitarist Hank Marvin, a guitar lesson with none other than talented singer/ song-writer Newton Faulkner and two personally designed and carved Gibson SG’s – one of which painted in real time throughout the auction by surreal artist Rick Garcia.
Celebrity guests included Al ‘Pub Landlord’ Murray with Beverley Knight invited to appear as the headline act.
Drive has produced the annual ‘Sound and Vision’ music event for Cancer Research UK for six years running. This hugely successful charity fundraiser has seen performers such as Tom Jones, Paul Weller and Robert Plant take to the stage to support the cause. Due to the strength of this year’s ‘Sound and Vision’, Cancer Research UK decided to commission a second exclusive event, also produced by Drive – the ‘Sound and Vision’ Guitar Auction’.
Next year’s ‘Sound and Vision’ will take place in March 2012. See you there.

Oh What a Night! Vogue #FNO
Author: la fabulistaVogue // Fashion’s Night Out – Drive keep it coming in London’s Covent Garden
Fashion’s Night Out started as an initiative of international publishers Conde Nast to support retailers struggling after the credit crunch.
The idea is to treat customers as VIPs, to counteract the growing online shopping trend by reminding people how much they can enjoy the experience of shopping as a whole – rather than just the results of it – and to encourage a spending rather than saving attitude.
Now in its third year, FNO 2011 will see 17 capitals taking part including NYC, Paris, Milan and of course London. This year, for the first time, the late-night shopping extravaganza reached as far as Covent Garden – and Drive Productions.
If you couldn’t make it in person – here’s some of the highlights:
• Giorgio Armani teamed up with EMI for cocktail party hosted by Vogue’s Alexandra Shulman
• Wolfgang playing at Burberry’s Bond St store
• Portraits being done by David Downtown at Fenwicks
• Christopher Kane & Erdem at Harvey Nichols customising Vogue charity tees
• Manolo Balhnik & Yasmin Le Bon unveil the ‘World of Manolo’ pop-up store at Liberty
• Gwyneth Paltrow at Stella McCartney
• Swarovski Crystallized hosting evening with one of fashion’s brightest design talents – Holly Fulton
• Shingai from The Noisettes performing at Hogan
• Juicy Couture star-studded party at Bruton Street store, with DJs Sophie Elliz-Bextor & Ben Grimes
• House of Fraser offering free massages!
• GAP customers treated to canapés & cocktails with blues from Janelle Monae
• Matthew Williamson hosting party at Bruton Street with model Edie Campbell
• Nicole Farhi’s new Conduit store hosting DJ set from Amber le Bon
• Rupert Sanderson roller disco in this Mayfair boutique for seventies glamour
For those of you who did make it we’d love to hear your thoughts on Thursday-Late-Night-Shopping gone mad:
• What were your favourite pieces?
• Favourite event?
• Most innovative event you saw on the night?
• Best freebie?
• And did you manage to get hold of one of the elusive ‘Fashion Night Out’ t-shirts???

Check out our latest ‘Drive Presents‘, a mini-doc based on the 4D projection-mapping show we put on for Ralph Lauren at the Kadawe centre in Berlin this summer.
We had some fantastic feedback from the audiences over there – and sales for Polo Ralph Lauren sales tripled by 180% at Kadawe during the installation.
