We’re going to be spilling the beans on how we produce some of the spectacular events that have given us such a good name at the next RSVP event suppliers exhibition show. Coming up fast in London at the Business Design Centre on Wednesday 28 April, Drive’s Executive Director Ben Fender and Drive-in Creative Director Imogen Hammond will be sharing a platform with Event Magazine Editor Jeremy King to present the RSVP Deep Impact seminar where we’ll be looking at some of the events that have had the most dramatic impact in the industry over the past 12 months and what made them so successful.

Join us there to learn more about what we do and how we get the best value for our clients. We’ll be discussing the ways in which we help one of our longest standing and most important charity clients, Cancer Research UK, make the biggest impact with their annual events – and raise the funds vital to their cause – by focussing on two of their Drive-produced flagship events, the Sound & Vision Rock n Roll memorabilia Auction at Abbey Road Studios and the star-studded Emeralds & Ivy Ball.

The Emeralds and Ivy Ball, supported by Ronan Keating, is now a firm fixture on the charity event calendar, attracting the likes of model Jodie Kidd, footballer Alan Shearer, Cilla Black, Rod Stewart, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Formula 1 presenter Tamara Eccleston and Five’s favourite newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky. The 2009 event beat its own expectations, raising over £645,000. Sound & Vision 2010 peaked with appearances from Newton Faulkner, Beth Neilson Chapman and the Led Zep legend that is Robert Plant, backed by the magnificent 72-strong London Oriana Choir. Year on year the funds raised have increased by a whopping 30% – considering the challenges faced by business during a national recession, this year’s staggering total of £260,000 can only be seen as exceptional.

It goes without saying that RSVP know a thing or two about events themselves: they assert their dedication to showcasing the best suppliers in the special events and corporate hospitality industry in a creative, inspiring and unique atmosphere – they’re clearly not wrong there as they annually attract 5,000 of the UK event industry’s leading planners and marketers. And they obviously know how to throw a proper party as this year they’ve bought in the East Room to host the main bar – so expect nothing but the best in the way of fine wines, victuals and a serious comfort zone. The East Room are known for their originality and inventiveness so expect to pick up a few pointers for parties and celebrations across London, as well as the heads-up on some of their secret pop-up locations in the capital, the country and abroad.

So if you want to pick up some tips, get inspired and sink into a sofa, all the while generating some new business then what are you waiting for? Registration for the event is now open and as a subscriber to the Drive newsletter you’re one the lucky ones, eligible for a 20% discount off the price of all the fascinating RSVP seminars held at the show. We’ll see you there.
